Publish your e-show to your Alive e-Show Server

Publishing your e-show to an Alive e-Show Server is the easiest way to get your e-show onto the Web. When you are publishing to an Alive e-Show Server, you can use one-click publishing to post your e-show. The Alive e-Show Server can be installed onto any standard Windows NT Web Server.

Important: Pre-release versions of the Alive e-Show Server only work with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS).

The Alive e-Show Server uses a catalog to categorize your e-shows into groups. For example, you can group your sales e-shows in the Sales group and your human resources e-shows in the Human Resources group. If a category does not exist for your e-show, you can create a new one by typing a new group name in the Group box.

When you publish to your Alive e-Show Server, you will need to supply the following information:

Alive e-Show Catalog

The Alive e-Show catalog makes the Alive e-Show Server the easiest way for you to publish and for others to access your e-shows. Publishing your e-show to an Alive e-Show Server will create an entry in the catalog for the e-show title automatically. Then, anybody with access to your Web server can point their Web browser to the location of your catalog and with one click, they can view your e-show.

In the catalog, e-shows can be divided into categories called e-show groups. These e-show groups let you categorize your e-shows by subject, related topics, or by department. For example, your catalog could contain the following e-show groups: Human Resources, Sales, Status Reports, Product Training, and so on. In step one of the Publish to Web wizard, you can specify the e-show group in which your e-show belongs.

By default, listing in the catalog will be the same as the e-show file name and registered user as author's name. However, you can use the Properties dialog box to specify the title of an e-show and to change the authorÆs name. To display the Properties dialog box, choose Properties from the File menu.
